New York Chinatown

Illustrator attempts to draw all the buildings in New York.


James Gulliver Hancock starts his drawings on the street, taking a photo and finishing them in his Brooklyn studio, sometimes referring to Google maps with street view for finishing touches. He usually stands on the street and draws, using a Sharpie, a pencil or pen and ink. Sometimes there are drips and blobs of ink. “But I love that. It conveys a lot of New York chaos.”
