婦女應多久做一次”子宮頸抹片檢查”

How often do women actually need pap tests?

The pap test was once recommended for all women annually, but now major medical groups in the U.S. have changed their recommendations to every three to five years.

In Canada, Pap tests are recommended as part of a routine checkup starting at age 18 or annually once a woman becomes sexually active. Specific guidelines vary by province.

Health Canada also suggests re-screening every three years until age 69, if the first two tests show no abnormality. Women over 69 are advised to stop screening regularly if they have not had cervical abnormalities for nine years and do not have a history of cancer.
